Video Journalism = PROJECTS Video & Photo Editing

This time last year, the only classes I really couldn’t wait to take were Video Journalism and Public Relation.  Unfortunately, Video Journalism was already filled.  The maximum students allowed were 8 I believe.  I was NOT a happy camper.  On the bright side, I got into Public Relations.  I must say, I really did enjoy the class.  Everything we did in there was for the real world.  I created brochures, press releases and and press packets.  Eventually I got over not getting into Video Journalism and figured there’s always next semester.  As quick as I got over it I got upset all over again.  When the list for spring semester classes were available, guess what class wasn’t being offered? You guessed it VIDEO JOURNALISM! Words can’t express how upset I got.  Scanning over the classes available for Communications, I saw Multimedia Reporting and it was the same professor who taught Video Journalism.  One thing led to another and I ended up taking that class.  The only thing that I wasn’t too fond of was the final project revolving around Jersey City.  Before reading the syllabus, I already told my friend I’d do my final project on him and his group.  After doing some research, I discovered Su Bailey.  Not only was he connected to Jersey City, but I listen to his music so it was a win win to me.  I’m lucky he wanted to work with me.

Multimedia Reporting ended up being my favorite class.  I got a lot out of it including this blog.  It was more of a real world class where I learned how to really edit videos, pictures and sounds. Editing videos was my favorite part.

Long story short, my patience has paid off (I think) Video Journalism is being offered for the fall semester and guess who signed up for it? You guessed it, me =] I already know who I’m doing my project on and I kind of have an idea on what I’m doing but my head is bursting with ideas.  Once everything gets organized, I’ll let you guys know the final detals.  I want it to be something that everyone involved benefits from. I know it’s going to be a lot of work so I’m startig from now.  I’m looking forward to seeing you all, when I get this thing moving.

SPC FAME Fashion Show

On March 31st, my school will be having their annual fashion show that is hosted by FAME: Fashion And Modeling Entertainment. I’m looking forward to this. For as long as I’ve been here, the shows have seemed to be getting better. From what I’ve heard, this year is supposed to have a few really good designers. I can’t wait to se what they have in store. I’ll keep you guys updated.
